Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 5^th European and Mediterranean Structural Engineering and Construction (EURO MED SEC 5) Conference. For the first time, Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, will be hosting a EURO MED SEC conference. Let's take the chance to experience one of the three Baltic states and to find people with welcoming hearts in cities woven into history. We hope that you will take this opportunity and meet us in Vilnius either online, or better, on-site to exchange ideas and discuss research trends and innovations with leading scholars at the conference.

As with our tradition of rigorous quality control, all manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review, followed by third-party similarity checks to ensure the originality of papers and finally our own in-house copy editing process. At the end, all accepted and registered papers will be published by ISEC Press in the Proceedings of International Structural Engineering and Construction, an open access SCOPUS-indexed journal.

Lithuania is a tiny country that boasts of a long list of UNESCO cultural and natural heritage sites. The local organizing committee has designed cultural and technical tours that will make this conference a memorable one. We hope to see you in the beautiful and historic city of Vilnius which will be celebrating its 700^th anniversary in 2023.

After the long COVID-19 pandemic, we will have the chance to foster our professional ties with fellow colleagues as well as make new acquaintances to further expand our circle of professional friendship and collaboration.

We wish to see EURO MED SEC grow into a flourishing community of friends and scholars.
