Welcome to ISEC-9

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Welcome to the Ninth International Structural Engineering and Construction Conference (ISEC-9) to be held in Valencia (Spain) from July 24 to July 29, 2017. The conference theme is “Resilient Structures and Sustainable Construction”. The Conference aims to bring together current academic research as well as practical implementations in the fields of Structural and Construction Engineering. It will provide a platform to discuss recent technical advancements and innovations in the profession. It is an excellent opportunity for the exchange of ideas and knowledge, and for discussing future challenges. It will include one day of pre-conference reception, two days of concurrent technical sessions and a banquet, one day for technical tours, and two days of cultural tours.

Valencia is located on the banks of the Turia River, on the East coast of Spain, by the Mediterranean Sea. The city was founded in the 2nd century B.C., having since then a long and rich culture that has been echoed into very nice and ancient monuments. Its old town is the largest in the Iberian Peninsula. Currently, the city is the third largest in Spain, with an urban area of 1.5 million people approximately, and one of the most important harbors in the Mediterranean Sea. The visitor can also enjoy the famous paella, originally from Valencia, as well as a variety of other dishes.
