Nile University (NU) is a world class research institution of learning committed to excellence in education and research. NU was officially inaugurated in January 2007 as a research university for postgraduate. Our Scientific research is based on five axes:

  1. Methodology based on research into the problems of Egyptian and Arab society and finding solutions.
  2. Providing the scientific research with permanent contact with the industrial sector and companies.
  3. Link scientific research to entrepreneurship and work on the development of innovation and creativity in the researcher.
  4. Create a generation of undergraduate students capable of performing scientific research with all its concepts and fundamentals.
  5. Helping startups improve their product and business model and prepare them to scale worldwide.

With the research strategy divided into three terms:

  1. Short Term: Build a generation of researchers with a degree of proficiency and science
  2. Mid Term: Strengthening research relations with local universities and the Middle East
  3. Long Term: To be a regional focal point for scientific research that foreign universities are seeking to cooperate with us.
  4. Create a generation of undergraduate students capable of performing scientific research with all its concepts and fundamentals.
  5. Helping startups improve their product and business model and prepare them to scale worldwide.

With the various research disciplines NU have 6 different research and training centers and an innovation & entrepreneurial center. Research at NU targets areas and challenges of strategic importance to the nation and to the region, aiming to drive growth for technology-driven economies.

As a research university, we produce knowledge, as a teaching university, we disseminate knowledge and as entrepreneurial university, we innovate and strive to convert that knowledge to goods and services that contribute to the national economy and to improving the quality of life.



We can express the quality of our research by numbers, up till year 2018, NU has more than 1000 Publications made by NU faculty, researchers and students in Scopus indexed journals and conferences with high impact factors and citations. NU collaborates with more than 100 academic and research institutions besides to more than five exchange programs in USA and Europe. Many of our students are now studying abroad in the top ranked universities all over the world.

Nile University positions itself as “Egypt’s Research University”, “research university” being a category of Institutions of Higher Education engaging in extensive research activity and that:

  • Offer a full range of baccalaureate programs.
  • Are committed to graduate education through the Masters and the doctorate degrees.
  • Give high priority to research and as such create and produce new knowledge not just disseminate existing knowledge.
  • Award Masters and Doctoral degrees.
  • Receive research funding from government and other public and private ; as well as, international entities.

Nile University offers many undergraduate programs like Computer science, industrial engineering, electronics and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, architecture engineering and business administration. In the near future 3 other undergraduate programs are to be added; namely: pharmacy, biotechnology and mass communication.
