Quito has a fairly consistent cool climate due to its altitude and location on the equator.

Quito has 12 hours of daylight, beginning at 06:00 and ending at 18:00.

It is generally mildly chilly.

When the sun shines, it is hot and dry; when the sun does not shine, it is chilly.

Quito is said to have all four seasons in one day, despite the fact that it never snows.

With that in mind, most people would dress in thin layers that they could put on and take off throughout the day.

You will get sunburned even if the sun isn't shining!
